Frequently asked questions
Your first appointment is an opportunity to discuss what has brought you to therapy and begin developing a plan that is tailored to your needs. During this session, Dr. Danielle DeSorcy will take the time to learn about your current concerns, relevant personal history, and the goals you hope to achieve through therapy. The appointment will also include a review of informed consent, confidentiality, and how your personal information is collected, stored, and protected. Before your appointment, you will be asked to complete the online intake forms through Jane. Completing these forms in advance allows more time to focus on what matters most during your session.Initial therapy appointments are booked for 75 minutes. This additional time allows for a thorough assessment and helps ensure there is enough information to develop an effective treatment plan. In the event that less time is required, you will only be billed for the time used.Follow-up therapy appointments are typically 50 minutes in length. If you are participating in a psychological assessment, the length of follow-up appointments may vary depending on the specific assessment process and services being provided.
